I’ve spent a lot of time there, for work and personal. Dan—the owner—is a great guy. Front desk sales associates are a mix of good/bad employees. They're all knowledgeable, but some of them are just chasing sales. Talk to Dan.

Their fabrication side is significantly more expensive than any of the other nearby shops, but they do a fantastic job.

They’ve got a ton of seats to try out at their shop, and a decent selection of helmets too. That said, they don’t generally carry any of the budget FIA-certified seats, although you can have them order pretty much anything.. From what I’ve seen every time I’ve been in, their in-store seat stock basically starts at $800. Go in on a Saturday morning and you may see a mini cars & coffee right outside

Going to call them up and ask if they have the QRT-R in stock.  No big deal if they don't, I hear that seat is awesome.  About 12 lbs all told.  Crazy.

I really like my Black Armor Helmet I bought a couple of years ago from Winding Road Racing.

https://blackarmorhelmets.com/

https://store.windingroad.com/black-armor-helmets-c198.aspx

It fits great and even their low end helmets co me with removable padding so you can wash them easily. Winding Road has an exclusive with Black Armor for the Circuit Pro helmet in composite which is what I have. They don’t even sell it on the Black Armor web site.

Damn. That’s carbon fiber territory. My Brides are 14lbs each and they already feel like a feather when you take them out.

Is this for the Wrx?

Yes, for the wrx. No convertible yet. Your post about the nd not fitting with a racing helmet reminded me that I need to test fit with a helmet on. I threw out my old one as it was  out of date and I was using it still for some hpde stuff. Not smart.

That seat is amazing and I bet it single handedly forces carbon seats to drop their price. I just want to see how I fit in it. 6'4" @ 210lbs.

As always, check the your sanctioning body’s rule book for helmet requirements. Generally speaking, if autocross and trac k days are what you’re doing, a Snell M (2015 or better) rating will be what you’re looking for. If playing racecar for real could be in the cards , then a Snell SA rating will usually be required (an FIA rating works also, but not needed and often only found on big dollar helmets). The difference being the Snell SA rating passes a roll bar impact test, has flame retardant lining and paint and comes with threaded mounting holes for a head and neck restraint device. At the really high end, there are vented helmets with ports for attaching a hose from a blower and things with aerodynamic considerations for really fast open wheel cars.

Generally the way to shop helmet brands is by what fits the shape of your head most comfortably, and by price. I’m a fan G-Force helmets. They make a good helmet at a great price point, and they fit the shape of my head nicely.

Thanks, only auto x and hpde, but I plan on having a custom roll cage made in the future.

I like what I see in this helmet

They don't list g force helmets, but I'll ask them about them.
